I haven’t posted much lately, partly due to me working too much, but also that there are so many conflicts everywhere - I’m getting seriously tired of seeing this. I don’t know how many conflicts I’ve seen in my timelines, different “sides” claiming that their interpretation of something is the only correct one, no gray zones, only black and white (“if you’re not 100% in agreement with my opinions then you’re against me”).
I deleted my Facebook account 7-8 years ago when people started to be really weird (in my opinion), of course FB being FB didn’t help in convincing me to stay. I deleted my mostly dormant Instagram account this winter. I never bothered with Threads. I’ve mostly stopped posting to Mastodon. My Bluesky account is pretty much dead (I think I posted last year), etc.
I’m seriously considering quitting everything (would probably keep my website and some way of getting some news), but no postings at all. I haven’t decided yet but I’m seriously considering it.
To be perfectly clear:
- Yes, if you think something is wrong, you should try to fix it
- No, I don’t want everything to be the same forever
The simple reason is that I see conflicts, conflicts, conflicts, everywhere in the news, on the web, in reality. And I just see way too many conflicts for my poor little brain to handle, I need to limit the conflicts to the important ones.
